I have guns over 20 years old that have never needed the gun smith's touch. If I pay $500 for a new gun[ which I just did] I expect it to work right out of box and be trouble free. And as for Judges and 1911's sitting on every gun stores counter, I remember in 1974 when I bought my first new car, the Chevrolet dealers were packed with Vegas. Chevrolet dealers are independent buisnessman. They own their own dearlerships, but they were stocking what was selling. Same as gun dealers. I bought a Chevelle. And no, my new gun is not a Taurus.
