From the USA Today article which Tom Servo linked you'll find this statement by the new Brady President, Mr. Gross:
"Policy is a big part of the solution but people have to realize that this isn't a political issue, this is an issue that's claiming the lives of 30,000 people every year and eight kids every day and we need to approach it with that kind of urgency," Gross said.
8 kids x 365 = 2,920
They must still have a skewed definition of the word "kids". I'm willing to bet that almost all of those deaths are gang, drug, and crime related deaths. Some may be suicides, but gun control will have little, if any, effect on suicides. Japan, with few guns, is one of the world leaders in death by suicide.
"If you love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." Samuel Adams.
