And yes, I'd prefer my safety to be frame-mounted and down-to-fire. I shoot Glocks, but I'll eventually have a 1911, cuz everybody needs one. I've shot a friend's Beretta 92 and it's just a longish reach to snap that safety up, then bring my thumb back down to grip the gun to fire.
I have eight Beretta 92s and a new PX4 now.

Honestly - there is no reason to even use the safety - it's a DA/SA gun. The 1st shot is heavier for a reason... To prevent an accidental firing.

I only use the safety as a decock, and then it gets pushed back into the "off safe" mode... No real reason to have to take the safety off before firing
