I don't use any Para's for self defense. I don't use any single action only pistols for self defense.

My first Para ran flawlessly for many years. When it broke for the first time it took months for Para to fix it. I had to send it to them twice before it was repaired properly.

The other two Para's were purchased by me within one month of each other. They were both broken when they showed up at my FFL. Not broken obviously enough to refuse and send back to the vendor. Only after I got them home, field stripped them and inspected them did I discover the multiple problems with each gun. Knowing what I know now I would not buy any more Para firearms. But that's just me. We have many discussions about Para reliability on 1911Forum.com and more people than not claim to have very good reliability records with their Para's.
