And....If you make the puller from a steel screw, you risk scoring the chamber wall.
But....Brass does not stand up well to twisting force. Consequently you risk breaking the screw off in the ball. This is probably a rarety and there will likely be several people who report having done it numerous times using a brass screw without a problem. But why chance it?
If you can't clear it through the muzzle, drive it out with a soft rod.
