Took my 1969 Albanian SKS hunting this year for the first time. It is an exceptionally accurate rifle and I had very high confidence in it inside of 300 meters from a recent range trip.
Took this guy at just about 100 yards as he ghosted through the woods in the failing evening light. I am now a HUGE fan of amber shooting glases for hunting as it really increased the clarity in low light levels in the morning and evenings.
First shot missed the vitals clipping his spine, the second shot found the boiler-room and put him down for good.
Do not overlook the effectiveness of the 7.62x39mm for Whitetails. Federal 123g JSP sure did the trick.
