Posted before, I'll post again.
My firearms...
Taurus PT-140 (2'nd gen) DAO - Absolutely flawless for over 600 rounds.
Taurus PT-1911 - Absolutely flawless after a 100 round "break in" period.
aaaand my cowboy action pistols...(NOTE these guns only ever had super mild "cowboy .38 special" loads run through them, low stress)
Taurus Gaucho SAA #1 - Random light strikes. Sold it.
Taurus Gaucho SAA #2 - Flawless for over 600 rounds then developed a -slight- "trigger slap". Sold it.
Taurus Gaucho SAA #3 - Good for 200 rounds, developed a BAD "trigger slap" and then started in with light strikes. Sold it.
My friend's firearms...
Taurus Gaucho SAA #1 - Trigger slap (he sold it)
Taurus Gaucho SAA #2 - Light strikes (he sold it)
Taurus PT-745 - Flawless but he sold it to buy the larger capacity PT-145.
Taurus PT-145 - Spring separated and came out front slide at 120 rounds. Took Taurus THREE MONTHS to send him a damned spring. Pistol still was odd about going fully into battery. (he sold it)
I'm not talking "hearsay", I'm talking about guns I've owned and/or handled and see firsthand. This is a HORRIBLE track record and I'm personally pretty much done with Taurus.
Admittedly, I'm keeping the PT-1911 "just because". But it's only a range gun and I'm not depending on it for competition or SD or anything important.
Everything else is gone or going. I have pistols I trust more and Taurus has seriously FAILED to give me confidence in either their products or their customer service.
