Long Gun range in Gathersburg, MD area?

My son lives in the Gathersburg, Maryland and wants to sight in a scope. He usually comes up to visit and sights in but can't make it for a while. Anyone know of a place to go?

Cresap, in Frederick is close to him and is a public range. Many of the listings are private ranges. I belong to Associated Gun Clubs in Baltimore, which is not too far from him. They have a 100 and 200 yard range.


How long is long range? There are not many (if any) MD ranges > 200 yards.


If he shoots he may want to consider joining a club. There are 2 Izaak Walton league ranges near Gaithersburg. Not sure if they are > 100 yards. I beleive dz is amember of one of them.
