View Full Version : Bolt Dissassembly on Yugo Mauser
January 6, 2002, 10:08 PM
I just got an unissued Yugoslave Mauser. Its a beautiful gun but it was thick in Cosomoline.
Ive got most of it cleaned off but I need to disassemble the bolt and clean it. Are there any tricks to this ? I dont see any obvious ways to take it apart, could someone talk me through it ?

Work the bolt to cock the gun. Place the safety in the 12:00 position. Remove the bolt from the gun. Located under the bolt handle is a spring loaded pin sticking down toward the front of the bolt. Press that in with your finger and unscrew the rear end of the bolt by turning it counter clockwise.

It worked like a charm, thankyou. There was only about a quart of cosmoline in that bolt.
I knew there had to be a way, I'm not real familiar with Mauser actions. Thanks for the info !:D

I am glad you asked before you started another thread about why you were having misfires.
Have fun although you almost can't help it.
