How would I go about touching up my pistols that have the Black Oxide finish. Is there a certain product? I have tried blueing, it does not do anything. The base metal is SS with the black Oxide Finish.

Tony, if the base metal is stainless then there isn't a cold blue product on the market that will color it. If you're sure that it's stainless you need to find someone who blues stainless steel. If it's an alloy then you need to have it anodized. I don't really know where to send you for stainless. I don't blue it and I don't know of anyone right off hand who does. If you contact Brownells tech support at (641) 623-5401 they might be able to steer you to someone who blues stainless. You might also consider one of the bake on finishes. George

Tony, you might try a black permanent marker. A lot of folks use that one aluminum to cover scratches or touch-up. I don't see why it wouldn't work on stainless. George
