Bring your guns and your 22 Caliber rifles or Pistols to Pennslyania on January 27th. Its at www.WaterandWings.com just outside of Quakertown PA. Just off of the North East Extension of the TurnPike. Their phone number is 215-679-6633 for directions. Or just tell me where your coming from and I'll give them to you.

I'm bringing my 22Magnumer rifle and my Model 70 and maybe the Single Six.

If you don't have a 22 just bring some ammo. And bring some 22Mag for me :)

I'm going to call the guy with the 50BMG rifle still too.

Anyone have a BuckMark? I love the stocks on those guns. A little too expensive for me but a nice gun.

Whats the TFL Member's Preferred 22LR Ammo?

December 30, 2001, 03:06 PM
Those last and first Sundays are tough for me.
I will pencil it in and start working on an escape plan from work.
I will bring a Marlin bolt action 780 and a Winchester semi, the model number I've forgotten.
I will see if I can get one of my 10/22 pals to come along with his scary assault .22 and 50 (or is it 100) round banana clip mags.
Mike
PS. It's not a .22 but I just bought a Kahr P9 Covert for the lovely Mrs. 9mmMike and if anyone wanted to try it, I could beg her to let me borrow it for the day.

Its easy...

Take the North East Extension and get off at the Q-Town Exit. I'm pretty sure thats Exit 32. Once you go threw the toll booths make a right at the light. Your on 663 now!!!
Count two lights. At the Second Light make a right. You'll see some Episcopol Chuch to your left if your on the correct road. Follow that road for 3 minutes until you see a Big Rock off to your right. That rock has Water And Wings engraved on it. Take the Road to the Right of the Rock and you will see a big Barn Building ahead. Don't park in front, pull around the back and thats where we'll all be.

My Cell Phone Number is [Deleted by Staff at Author's Request] if anyone gets lost and needs to call me. I'll have it with me at the Range

Well, I had my second heart attack right after Thanksgiving.:( Since then I haven`t felt like traveling to any gun shows so I don`t know about driving down to Quakertown. I`m getting stronger but I`m still getting used to the new medications.

There`s a show this weekend in Leesport and one in Hazleton. I should be able to make both. They`re not real big so I probably won`t find anything.

Quantrill
January 4, 2002, 10:17 AM
May be able to make this. Quantrill

Sorry to hear that. Well we all enjoyed having you out the last time you came to the shoot. Your a World of Information and I liked listening to you. Its not too often I hear people speak with Credibility and not the Hear say stuff.

I'm sure K80Geoff liked the fact you were giving him suggestions on where to live in PA so he could GET THE HELL OUT OF NEW YORK.

I hope you feel better.:)

I`ll probably wait until it warms up. I do have a Winchester Model 62A I think and a Smith Model 17. I`d just need ammo. The Winchester is great for shooting Colibris in the house. No noise whatsoever. When I got out of the hospital my brother was up. He was shooting it. First time in years for him.

SodaPop... does your invite extend to new members? I live just north of Pottstown right off of 663. I'm also going to the Leesport show tomorrow, will anybody else be there? You won't miss me, I'm the heavy set black guy walking around drueling over all the new and used hardware. My name is Jeff.

I was up there today testing Mags on my FAL. I blew threw 10 Fully loaded 20rd mags without a hitch.
Things have slowed down since most of hunting season is over. I had the whole range to Myself most of the day.

I think they pretty much officially ARE NOT opening the 500yd range. I bitched about that and the fact they didn't have any skids for back ups. I might try and volunteer some time up there and see if I can change a few things.

Just got a notice for Jury duty starting on the 22nd. Now I will have to arrange it so I can be free that weekend:D

Just like the govt to tax me into poverty and then not allow me to work to earn money to pay the taxes.

Dinosaur... no riding the Harley to the gunshows!

Hope to see you when it gets warmer and you feel better.

Seems most of the guys around here are afraid of a little cold and snow. I might be up for a little road trip. I've got a Marlin 25 in 22 Mag, a model 60, a 22/45 and maybe a Single Six convertible (if the trade works out). The web sites down, so how far is this place from Cleveland?

Dead
January 9, 2002, 05:13 PM
Isnt the Quakertown Airport on 663?? (I know there is one on that road) if it is, I would say you could almost spit on the range from there, not more than 5-10 minutes away.

Jamie Young
January 9, 2002, 08:01 PM
I'm almost positive that if you get off the turnpike and make a left turn you will be at the Q-Town Airport in 1 Minute :) I think its right over on the other side of 663 about a Mile down the road.

Quantrill
January 13, 2002, 09:05 AM
I thought I might be able to get a hop to the Quakertown Airport but it is now "iffy". Thanks for your responses and if we ever do this again, I will know I have an option. Quantrill

Jamie Young
January 13, 2002, 04:20 PM
A Potential Problem for the shoot. Its a minor one, we just have to make sure we're prepared.

This Range is severly under used between January and August and in the last Month I've seen 75% of the Wooden Posts shot down. I was up there today and Had a heck of a time hanging targets. I spoke to some of the people there and they said they usually only put Posts up 2 or 3 times a year. Unfortunately they got shot up pretty fast. 100yds and 200yds are pretty gunned down so.........

I'm going to go out to Home Depot or a Lumber Yard to get some wood or Metal Posts to bang into the ground. I'll see how many I can make up for the shoot but If any of you can bring something It might save some aggravation. I have access to plenty of Carboard but thats not going to cut it in the wind.

If so I know where it is and have shot cowboy action matches there many times. Nice place. Will there be food and beverages avaiable or should we bring out own? I beleave I may be able to make this one. Are non TFL guests allowed? My friend just got his computer and still can't acess the web well. He is a shooter through. Just 22's? or any of hand blaster? I have a 45/70 contender you all can try out.....most folks only try it once<VBG>.
Looking forward to this. As long as there is no snow I will put it on my calender! Yes blasting. ah the joy of the 22 gotta go to walmart and buy some "Loss leader 22's" less than $9 for 550 rds!

January 15, 2002, 04:08 PM
OH NO NOT ONE OF THEM!!!!;)

Yes it use to be called Twins about a year ago. The Cowboy action shoots actually screwed up one of our TFL shoots a few months ago. Water and Wings booked us on the same day as a Cowboy action shoot without thinking. And we had to cancel our shoot.

Yes your invited and you can bring whatever/whom ever you want. Some of us Veteran TFL Members are only going to bring our 22 rifles and pistols for this shoot. We usually all bring Military Style weapons but we're cutting back.

They do have Hot Dogs and Snacks inside so you should be able to have something to nibble on.

chaim
January 22, 2002, 04:41 AM
I may go, it would be nice to put a face and real name with some of the TFL ids. I can't be sure though, I'm pretty broke these days. Though shooting .22s instead of .45s may help make up for some of the gas money and if I can get a buddy to go and split it that would help.

Where exactly is Quakertown? How do I get there from Maryland? I'm in Columbia, I can get there with directions from Baltimore. Approx. how far is it? I am assuming it isn't more than a couple hours each way so I could easily make a day trip of it, if I'd need a hotel I probably won't go (again, I'm pretty broke).

I've noticed alot of MD, PA and DE people here. Do you all every get down to MD for a shoot?

Jamie Young
January 22, 2002, 09:19 AM

East Greenville PA 18041

If you need any more help let me know. Quakertown is 40min from Philadelphia. You looking at about a 2 1/2 hour drive. Plenty of guys that are coming are coming from as far as you.
There are a ton of people from Maryland and Viginia here.

If you get there and are wondering who if anyone is from TFL, just start asking people!!! That is what I did. Just happened that I asked K80Geoff :D

I mean what is the worst that could happen, someone says "No"???

RAY WOODROW 3RD
January 22, 2002, 07:30 PM
Mrs. Woody6 and myself are still coming to the shoot. We will be possibly bringing some others also. How is the range SodaPop? Did they get new wood put up yet or what. If not, what do we need to bring along with our WEAPONS OF DEATH? (2x4's, cardboard, nails, screws) WAIT A MINUTE! Is this going to be a get together shoot or a working party! The next shoot is at my place! :p

Jamie Young
January 22, 2002, 09:37 PM
I'm counting on that:)

Bring wood if you can. I have some stuff to stick into the ground. I just hope it isn't windy. This place is almost always windy. The wind blows from your right out to 300yds and then from the left from 400-500yds. Its just the way the trees and the valley open up.

Jamie Young
January 22, 2002, 09:46 PM
DonQatU sent us all a bunch of targets. They are all Man Size targets and should be great for 22 Rifle shooting. I think I have about 25-30 of them.

I've going to have to break the rules for the 22 shoot at some point for 45 seconds. I have to settle the score with a few people here and once and for all its got to end. I got about a half dozen cranky PM's from Mini bashers that I have got break the rules and Break out the Mini 14.

Atleast Jody Hudson is coming and the rest of you are going to have to tell DonQatU that you seen me shoot up his targets at 400yds. Maybe he'll send us more free targets next time too:)

RAY WOODROW 3RD
January 22, 2002, 09:56 PM

P.S. There is a HUGE Walmart, in Quakertown on 309 (just north of the 663 juction) I think it is like 2 lights north of there.

just follow your nose when it comes to finding the ammo in there ;) That is if you are a true TFLer :p
