View Full Version : Remington Trigger???

I am considering tossing the factory trigger from my Model 7, I adjusted it the most I could and only got it down to about 5 pounds, got rid of all the creep though, but still too heavy. I would like to get it to a crisp 3 lbs. Do the Timney or Jewell triggers for Rem700 replace these,or am I out of luck for a trigger for it?
Am I correct in thinking that a Model 7 action is the same as an XP-100 action?
Thanks in advance,

Bob, I picked up a Model Seven a few years back that the original trigger had been adjusted to just under two pounds clean and crisp. I bought the rifle from the original owner and the stock trigger was set up by his store's gunsmith. I've never had to tinker with the little rifle or even had it out of the stock. If it is like the trigger on a Model 700 you might want to back up and start over.

Bob, as Hank said you might just wish to start over. If you are only wanting 3# then to my mind the Jewel is a waste of money. These are pretty expensive and really only needed if you wish an ultra light pull. Timney would be the way to go. George
