Oops.
I kinda scratched the barrel on my Ruger .308 while hunting this weekend and want to touch up the scratch. Any suggestions on a means of taking care of my boo-boo? Its a small spot, only about half an inch, but I still don't want to see it.
Thanks,
Jack

Outers has an inexpensive touch-up kit, basically looks like three felt tip pens in a package. I use it for such touch-up, works pretty well.

Best blueing I've ever used is the G96 paste.

Oxpho- Blue available from Brownells.www.brownells.com All but idiot proof, even my younger brother can get it right without supervision and he's 26

I agree with Rottweiler. Ox-pho Blue is the best stuff around.
I first heard of it from George Stringer, the gunsmith who is the moderator of this forum...
Great stuff.

One more vote for the Oxpho Blue. A few applications steel wooled in between, looks just like factory.

Whatever you use, confine the cold blue to the scratch itself. It will often affect the original blue and leave you with an ugly blemish. Use a Q-Tip and squeeze the excess solution out before applying.
