Hi,

This is a quick one. When did the Beretta 96 start being offered for sale to the general public in the States? I am curious due to the non-existence of high cap mags for the pistol.

According to my sources, the Beretta 96 was introduced in 1992. Most were shipped with 10rd mags, even prior to the September 1994 capacity restrictions. Around 1994, an 11rd magazine was introduced which had a slightly enlarged floorplate. Not many of these would have been pre-ban.
