My father has a Springfield model 1873 hanging over the fireplace, and asked me what they were going for. I've seen the carbines around, but never the infantry rifle. Any experience with these? It's in excelent condition, and shoots really well with light loads.
Now to the point: Any idea what she's worth?

T-Rex, there were three basic models of the 1873 Trapdoor. The Rifle with a 32.625" barrel, the Carbine with a 22" barrel, and the Cadet with a 29.5" barrel. The Rifle version in excellent condition could be worth about $1,500-$2,000. The Carbine version about $4,000-$6,250. The Cadet version about $1,000-$1,600. Hope this helps!
