Mauser 72E Trap O/U 12ga.???????

I need any info on this gun. A local guy has one for sale but i need to know the value of this gun before i start to deal with him. I is exactly as the description says a Mauser Model 72E Trap 12ga. with a single trigger. I know these were made for only a short time. the gun is in excellent cond. But he has no manuel so i don't know how old it is. Thanks dw

DW, the 72E isn't listed in the Blue Book. There is a 71E but none of Mauser's shotguns are listed individually nor is particular values given for each model. Basically all it says about them is that the "Mauser shotguns were sub-contracted out to various European manufacturers. Collectability to date has been minimal. Values depend on grade, configuration, features, engraving and overal dsirability. Most of these shotguns have been priced in the $395-$1350 range depending on the configuration's desirability". I don't have anything else on them. George
