Ok guys...I sold my 308..I have the ACOG TA11E calibrated for the 7.62. If I put it on my M4...how far off would it be at say 2-300 yrds. Has anyone on here done that before.

Well as with any scope with a BDC you can zero it for any range with any ammo the best thing to try and figure where the 400,500,600 hash marks actually calibrate to would be to actually shoot it.

Look up the ballistics for M80 ball ammo and cross compare it to what your shooting.

I've done exactly the opposite, I have a TA031F on my SCAR17. For the first 300 yards it really doesn't make a difference.

I wouldn't think it would matter for the first 300 yrds either. You figure about 2750 fps for the 308.and 3200 for the 556..I would imagine your only talking about a few inches at most, and on a sillouette target it doesnt matter. Still going into chest size target from 0-300 yrds or so. If anything I could hold just a hair under because of the faster 5.556 round. When I get a chance at a range up to 300 yrds..I'll double check it.
