Hey All.
Just picked up, as you may have guessed, a Benelli SuperNova today.
It was my first shotgun purchase, and I think I did alright.

What I'm wondering is this : After it has been completely unloaded, can it be de-cocked Without dry firing it?

I figure that anytime you have a spring involved, you'd want to store it at its most 'relaxed' state. (Under the least amount of tension).

If I'm wrong on my reasoning, by all means please tell me so, and if you could explain why, that'd just be a bonus. :p

EDIT: I wasn't able to find anything about it in the manual, and my Google-fu was equally inconclusive. Dunno if that makes a difference, but at least I attempted to figure it out.

simple fix get a snap cap (false shell ) made for that very purpose . Put it in the chamber and squeeze the trigger........no more spring tension....LOUD

Would you then just store it with the snap cap in the chamber?

I've always loved that this forum puts up with and helps to educate the new blood like myself, rather than embarrassing and haranguing us.:D
