I just picked up a new M10 AK47. Its the side folder model with the rail system around the front of the barrel, set up for a forward mount optic. My question is which optic/ mount?

I am leaning towards a Aimpoint Mirco, however open to suggestions.

Thanks

It would help to post a pic or be a little more descriptive of what you currently have for handguards and/or gas tube. Brand name and model?

Budget--Primary Arms Micro Dot

No budget--Aimpoint T1

With the factory rail you'll lose co-witness though...

I think an aimpoint would be a good match

^ I've been thinking about getting a Kobra for mine with the dogleg mount. :)

OP, does your AK have the rail on the side of the receiver, above the trigger?

What set up do you need to co-witness the front sight?

You can get the Kobra with a Picatinny rail mount, or an AK side mount.:)

Cowitnessing just the front sight is pretty useless. Only serves to block your vision. And nothing is going to cowitness with the pair.

Both of the above set ups are absolute cowitness.
