What makes this particular AK so special that it would warrent being nearly the same price as an M1A?

I mean, from Arsenal' website, it has some really nice wood an all, but is it really worth the nearly 2k p(Granted that's MSRP) price tag?

You are paying for the Arsenal quality, the milled receiver and the wood.

Would you say that quality warrents a 2k price tag? That's pretty steep for an AK isn't it?

Does anyone own one of these? Is it really worth the price tag?

The receiver.

It is machined rather than stamped. Machining things is expensive, there is more tooling more labor involved.

There is also the belief that milled receivers are better than stamped, which also drives up demand and allows for them to be priced higher.

They are also very limited runs of them which drives up demand yet again.

Well, it'll hold its' value if that helps....

That said, if you're looking for a high end milled AK these days, go with the SLR 101. They're selling for $1019 at K-Var and I don't think they'll last long at that price.

I can understand in todays market a good milled receiver one going for $1,000.00, but to me its not worth $2,000.00. But that's just me.

Because some people have more money than brains. If you pay it, they'll keep charging it.

2k for an AK clone? Even 1k in my opinion is way too much. I paid 400 for my WASR 10/63 and it has been flawless. I could maybe see 1k if it was the real deal (selective fire and all) - but its a clone.
