Just found this site and like it compared to another black gun site ive been using anyway figured i would make a "new person thread"

Picked up a glock19 early this year as my first gun (31 years old)

and now have decided to get an AR15

Congrats! Daniel Defense is one of my favorites. I have the V4... considering getting a mid-length V3 or V5... but I also really want to do a BCM as well... decisions decisions...

They're addicting for sure. :)

Very nice! I also have DD and similar Glock, a lightweight V3 upper and G23.

Thank you
I love the gun and quality it seems to have (so many good things said about DD all over the internet) today i went and bought some different ammo and a couple PMAGS with ranger clips, started eyeing some optics but im going to see how iron sights work first

Already looking at accessories and haven't shot it yet! Seems like there is endless amounts and plenty of places to order/pickup AR "hop-ups"

Woo-Hoo! Man, ya don't see that as often as you used to. It always warms my heart to see a new shooter learn the basics (iron sights) first before blowing full paychecks on PX Ranger (GI version of a mall ninja) order forms!

No kidding.

Mall Ninja has gotten to be sooo overused. I'm trying to introduce the term "Sidewalk Commando" into the vernacular... but that would presume that the example is actually outdoors... so maybe not. :p

On your irons- while you're tinkering around with those, take a peek at the National Match front sight post, or other front post options. A guy can spend the better part of the day just experimenting with different sights. Ok, just reading what I wrote sounds dull and boring, but I'm tellin' ya- it's quite a bit of fun!

Edit: Here's the assortment I ordered: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/427154/kns-front-sight-post-assortment-ar-15-matte-package-of-7

Flat top irons, you have dozens of options. I should order one of those KNS front post sets. I built this A2 specifically for shooting irons.
