View Full Version : Rifling

Hey guys, quick question. Barnes bullets says 1:10 or faster twist for a 50 grain varmint grenade bullet. What would be faster? Would a higher number be faster or slower? I have the mil standard 1:7, so I'm not sure the varmint grenades would work in this rifle.

You're good to go with 1:7.
What that means is the rifling does one turn in 7 inches, which is a "faster" twist than 1:10.

Yup, while not near as popular as yesteryear, a slower twist would be the old 1:12.

Thanks guys. That is what I figured, but I never go with assumption on gun issues. Got the first 100 loaded up. Gonna try em out on some ground squirrels this week
