I have a Colt LE6920 and was wondering if I could get a upper for .308 for this. I have read that Colt lowers were different than everyones else.
Thanks

No. The LE carbine is based on the much smaller .223 receiver. You'll need the AR 10 size reciever.

You could buy a 300 Black Out (AAC) upper which is also 30 caliber...

Colt has a new .308 AR coming out (the 901?) that will convert to 5.56. Otherwise, AR-15s and AR-10s are two different beasts.
It is true that some Colt lowers and uppers aren't fully compatible with milspec trigger/hammer/pivot/takedown pins. Most of these were made before the 1994-2004 AWB and a few years after it sunset.

The Colt Modular Carbine

My only problem with it is having more parts to haul around and possibly lose.
I am in the process of building a 300 Blackout which uses every AR-15 part except for the barrel. If I was going to get a big caliber AR 10 style would get one in .338 Federal
