I have a Vanguard by Weatherby 30 06. It has a wood stock with a blued barrel. It is in mint condition. The serial is vx40707. I am trying to sell the gun and I have no clue what the value is. Any help would be much appreciated.

If it is the model I'm thinking of, local Walmart was selling them brand new for about $350.

Yeah I thought it might be a walmart gun, but I read a few different forums claiming that they might be worth a bit more.

I think you can still buy them NIB for $399 for the older version. The S2 version is somewhat higher.
They make a very good hunting rifle which I find preferable to the budget Savage, Mossburg, Marlin options.

The VX prefix indicates it is a Vanguard Deluxe. It is worth quite a bit more than the standard synthetic model.

The syntetics are selling new for $350-$400. Walnut stocked versions around $500. A used walnut version should be worth around $300-$350, if you can find a buyer. You might have to sell for less than it is actually worth to move it. Most buyers today would prefer the synthetic and it would be easier to sell.
