I have an old Model 94 Winchester (30WCF) carbine that was given to me by my father. I recently saw one very similar to mine in Cabela's Gun Library and it was listed for $2999.99. The serial number on the Cabela's gun was 446635, mine is 190650. The only differences between the two rifles are mine is in better condition and the butt stock on mine is checkered. My father bought it used in 1946 after he returned from the war. I was told that the checkering on the stock was not original for the gun, but that is the way it was at the time my father purchased it. I have attached some pictures for review.

Try again on the pics. A letter from the Cody Museum folks will clear up the checkering issue but I doubt it was shipped that way. Can't rule it out, tho.

If it was an original deluxe, it would have checkering on the forestock and buttstock. Cabelas can ask anything they want, it doesn't mean your gun is worth that.

Pics would help.
