There is going to be a big change in the baiting for deer law's in MN, My hat is off to Mr. Hansen for fighting the good fight.
I also know the CO very well and he is a very difficult man to like.
He has had many citations thrown out and many complaints against him.

I wish the ruling had been in a Federal court so that it would also cause Missouri to revisit the 'anti baiting laws'.

It has never made any sense to me that I can plant a "food plot" (usually corn or some other succulent food) and hunt over it all day long LEGALLY but if I dump 50 lbs of corn on the ground and hunt over it, I am illegally baiting.

To top it off, this year one of the St. Louis suburbs was allowed to dump corn on the ground and "sharpshooters" were allowed to spotlight the field at night in order to control the deer population. When I contacted the Conservation Department about the "legality" of this under MO's baiting and spotlightling laws, their reply was that "the sharpshooters aren't hunting", they are performing a "herd control service" and so weren't required to follow the hunting rules. Now for the real kicker (drum roll please) the suburban city was PAYING the sharpshooters $150 per animal removed.
