I have not been able to access Shotgunworld all week. Is the site down or is it just me?

They are down. There is a Facebook group that is posting their problems and progress. https://www.facebook.com/groups/228844355113/

Shotgunworld keeps going in and out on me. I got aggravated and just decided to join these forums since they work and there seems to be some really nice people here.

It's been up and down all night.

Of all the forums I go to, SGW is the only one that has way to many annoying/disruptive ads and is has problems with the infrastructure. I really like some of the things on the site, but I'm sure they would have more members and the forums would move a bit faster if they were to speed/clean things up a bit.

Yes the site is having infrastructure problems. It is a privately held site with a single owner. He has brought in a consultant to work on the problems. I and a couple of other IT professionals are giving him pointers on where to look for the problems as well. I haven't seen a mom and pop board not go through these kind of growing pains yet. He will and is aggressively working on the problems with the board but it is a tricky problem. I'm sure in the next few days and weeks the issue will be resolved. BTW, the owner of the board is quite a nice guy and pretty knowledgeable when it comes to running the board.

and still no go. Hopefully, it's nothing too serious or expensive to correct. Jay, the owner is a great guy. The site is only a hobby for him, he works hard at his real job...

At the moment my guess would be it's hardware related. The trouble is the problem doesn't show up in any of the things you would normally check so it's kind of doing failure forensics and chasing down a rathole. Jay wil get it, but like you said this is a part time thing for him so it may take a little while before it's solved.
