Getting hit..what happened?

I remember hearing in years past that a the good guys got hit in the gun hand because the BG's would return fire, aiming at the muzzle flash...now I don't hear about that anymore.
Has the goblins aim at different parts now or where are they aiming at?
The good guys change tactics?
Anybody know?
