Went to a training class at the Stillwater Armory this weekend,,,
It was a concealed carry law class with some practical shooting as well.

Since we would be putting quite a few rounds downrange,,,
I opted for my CZ-75B Kadet in .22 LR,,,
I fell in love all over again.

Many hundreds of rounds downrange,,,
I think I have finally gotten past the "tea-cup" grip,,,
It's difficult breaking an old habit especially when it was "trained" into you.

So for a while now I am going to try the modified isosceles stance,,,
And a full two handed grip instead of the tea-cup grip.
My accuracy has definitely dropped a bit,,,
But my pro swears it will get better.

The only problem I had over the entire day of shooting,,,
Was getting my pistol back from my pro,,,
He had never shot a CZ-75B Kadet,,,
I had to pry it from his hands.

Good for you Aaround. Its always good to get a little training and trying something new. I sort of know what you mean about losing your gun for awhile. Lost my Glock 19 with its Advantage Arms .22 conversion when I stopped by the range to sight it in!!

The class was at the Stillwater Armory,,,
Tom Smith and his wife Sabra were the instructors.

The class was a repeat for me,,,
It's the required training to apply for a concealed carry permit.

I wanted a refresher on the legal basics so I took the class again,,,
There is always some extra shooting time after the class,,,
His facility is on his property just out of town,,,
He's building a very nice range.

Here's his website (http://www.stillwaterarmory.com/).

Hey, if you can do it, I know Jay on "TopShot" can do it. ;)

Congrats on a fun class, I've been to a couple myself. Last one was a tactical shotgun class, the 12 ga. put a bit of a hurtin' on the old shoulder... the day after

Using the tea-cup grip was more than just a habit with me.

In the early 70's that's what the U. S. Air Force trained me to use,,,
That was the only formal handgun training I ever received,,,
I took advantage of all the range time I could get.

The next class I am taking will be,,,
Using the Handgun at Night – Flashlight Techniques (http://www.oklahomaconcealedcarry.com/Course_Descriptioin.html)

Classes like these are like mini-vacations for me,,,
I could easily spend that much on one solo night on the town.
