Went to shoot steel yesterday with the open sighted '03, and before we left I noticed at the 500 meter rams there were a few clay birds left..Got the M1A out and two sighter shots, two clicks left windage and three dead birds. I never knew this rifle could be so accurate. It's a rack grade with my target loads and a Vortex 4-12 scope, would anyone consider this above average for a M1A or did I just get lucky?

M14/M1As can be very accurate, I think people who have issues with them just dont want to put in the work. I put a little time and work into mine and its a very good shooter. Havent got to shoot paper with it since then to get real measurements of its accuracy but it easily hits clay pigeons at 200-300m. I will have to take it out farther once Im back home from this trip
