OK IM not going to name stores or locations but I found a old mag feed military type rifle on the consignment rack . picking it up to examine it i noticed a 3 position saftey marked S for the bottom E for the middle the up is F . I can not remember the name or size . Is it possible it was a attic find and no one knows what it is ? they want like 900.00 950.00 for it

It is likely that the selector has been pinned to semi auto only and the gun assembled without the FA parts.
It's not illegal for a semi auto rifle to have a full auto mark near it's selector.
Here is a Vector D,E,S (German full auto Uzi) selector converted and remarked to semi auto.

This is a HK G3 trigger that has been "clipped and pinned" for use on a semi auto HK 91. http://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/catalog/hk91seftriggergroup_2201_detail.jpg

Most likely it is a semi-auto, as said. Without knowing what it is, who made it, the condition of the bore, etc., there's no way to give you a value.

Just in case it is indeed a forgotten attic find, it is illegal and there's no way to make it legal. Period.
