It would seem that old age is beginning to re-calibrate my eye balls and the front sight on my garand is a lot smaller and way more out of focus than it used to be. I have been considering mounting a scout mount and scope. There are a couple of mounts out there, the question is, which mount? Anyone here have experience with these mounts?

Yes I have done 2 of them on M-1 Garands
One for a man in Green River, Wyo, and one for a man in Pivillion Wyo.
The man from Pivillion now lives in Anaconda Mt.
They work well, and it makes for a very good sight for M-1 owners with aging eyes.

Ultimak (http://blog.joehuffman.org/2011/01/08/ItTookAbout70Years.aspx) just released a new scout mount for the Garand. According to the post, it's supposed to ship next week.

There is one available from the CMP that works fine with and Eotech.

Logs, do you have a link to that cmp mount? Couldn't find it on their page.

I have used the B-Square mount on my Garand. It works well.

I wanted to scope a garand and make a pseudo-sniper. The b-Square mount price seemed to drop, then a big catalog vendor put them on sale to boot. I bought one.
It came in, and was labeled "Made in China". Which would explain the price drop. I sent it back. For all I know, my M1's may have fought the Chinese in Korea!
The project is again on hold. If I get the itch again, it may get the CMP or the Ultimak and a scout scope.

No link, but I saw it in their catalog that gets mailed out. You should call the North or South store.

This company has been doing it for a while now, and I think they're the ones who made the mounts for the CMP.

Check them out.

I have the forward mount from CMP that replaces the rear handguard. Works fine when I feel the need.
