Well, I finally took the plunge and went for my holy grail of rifles, the Sprinfield M1A Scout/Squad rifle:D Now I just need to sell off a pistol and another rifle to pay for it:o

I suppose that this is a dumb question but I am guessing that if you mount any kind of optic, such as the one shown in the shared photo, that you lose the use of the iron sights...right? I have an Eotech, and other red dots, but want to be able to use irons without detaching.

I can't vouch for this mount because I don't know anyone who has it, but I saw a vid on youtube while ago and the guy had one on his M1A and liked it.

IMHO, the best forward optic mount made for the M1A
with a standard weight barrel is the M8 from UltiMAK.
