I have the opportunity to buy a very nice M16 A1 style upper with teardrop forward assist (no shell defector) 20" barrel marked C MP Chromelined and a A1 flash hider, triangle handguards with the flat delta ring. It also comes with a A1 butt stock (non trapdoor) It does not come with a charging handle or Bolt charrier group. Is $350 a good price for this? I am looking to build a retro AR (603). Any advice would be fantastic.

These "retro" items seem to be throught the roof these days. Those are new prices for A2/M4 stuff but it seems this "retro" stuff is going for more these days.

I am not sure what you guys are talking about with"Retro" items. Are people going backwards with ARs? If so, what is an original M-16 upper receiver going for? (No FWD assist)

Yes the trend seems to be that builing older ar's is whats hot.

Here is a good site with info: http://98.196.65.94/retroblackrifle/index.html

I have seen the "slick side" uppers with no forward assist go for around $125. the ones with the teardrop forward assist and no deflector bump seem to go for more.

I checked it out. Brings back a lot of memories. I had no idea the older stuff was that popular. I am going to go through some drawers now. Thanks.
