I am looking at purchasing an M1A Socom 16 or Scout Squad. Can I shoot steel case ammunition in these guns? This would help keep the cost of shooting way down. Thanks, Steve.

I suppose you can shoot this stuff. I'd compare it to hauling live chickens in a Corvette but that's up to you.

Certainly it would not be my first choice of ammunition. I have been looking at other .308 semi auto rifles and I couldn't help noticing the warnings on DSA's website about shooting steel case ammo in their FALs. I was concerned about potentially damaging the rifle if I decided to shoot steel case. The only reason I would shoot steel case in the gun, would be on the rare occasion that my friends and I can get down to the range. Generally, when we get together, we do so to dispense much ammunition. When I am on my own, I take my time, and work to improve my accuracy. Steve
