AK47 vs M16 The ultimate military rifle thread FAIL.

Someday there will be a greasy spot on the ground where the AK47 vs M16 horse used to be. It will be right next to the greasy spot where the 9mm vs .45 horse used to be.

THE GENEVA CONVENTION DOES NOT BAN HP AMMO!!!

Other than that seems to be fairly balanced.

Everyone should have at multiples of each.
Everyone should know how to use both though. If you don't like the AR, then don't buy one, but at least know hot to use one.

Not gonna bother with the poll.

Like the videos explained (I've actually watched them all before) both have their advantages and it's up to the individual to choose what works for them.

I think you guys are missing the point behind the videos.

The videos represent the ultimate comparison. It is over 2 hours of video and the reviewer is the ultimate internet reviewer of them all...nutnfancy. Nutnfancy gives us a glimpse at his ultimate AR collection. I am not sure how this guy spends his time from day to day, but a lot of it is certainly spent on these pain-staking videos going into every single detail.

I challenge anyone here to find a better video review which goes into such depth.

I think you missed the point behind the videos, seeing as you asked us in the poll which rifle rules- implicitly asking which one is better. Even though nutnfancy never tells us what is better, he tells us what is good about each and tells us to decide what is better for our particular needs and wants.

2 Hours?

He really needs to learn how to sum things up.

At the end, Nutnfancy specifically says he prefers the AR15, but if he needed to bury one of the rifles and dig it up later then it would be the AK.

The ak is a true combat rifle the m16/m4 rifles are target rifles. A rifle that shoots a .7.62 bullet very short distance and that is designed to be put through hell, ran over, submerged under water, buried in the sand and still fire. Vs a rifle that fires a small bullet a long distance but is sensitive to dirt and sand and has to be totally disassembled to be cleaned. Ill personally take a draganov over an ak, I have an ar and I love it. Its a toss up.For me it all depends on the situation.

When rod operated AR's become commonplace at a fair price I may get one.Until then,a hot running, filthy, direct impingement AR simply can't compete over the long haul with the excellent design of the AK.

This is about the umpteenth iteration of the same old tired, dead-horse BS. Over and over, and nobody ever changes their mind. Not in the last eleven years, anyway. All that ever happens is that somebody finally gets mad and starts being insulting.

Enough. This comparison stuff is going to wind up along with SHTF and TEOWATAKI as a banned subject, if folks don't let up.

Come back in March. Maybe.
