can anyone tell me a easy way to install a new mainspring and rod into the reciever of this rifle

Been shooting one for about 25 years and I haven't found it either!

Best I can do is to hold the head of the guide rod with a pair of needlenose visegrips, and use them as a handle to compress the spring into place.
