View Full Version : Sig 522 instead of Mini 14
December 29, 2009, 03:42 PM
I had posted and asked for advice on the SS Mini 14 recently. After thinking it over I bought a Sig 522LR instead. Its hard to shoot long range in the county where I live now w/o traveling 30 mins or so to a range, plus the price of ammo is getting out of hand. So now I have a partner for my 10/22. ( Anyone looking for the GSG "H&K" model in .22 can call Perrys Gunshop in Wendell NC. They have a few there, saw one just today. ) Thanks for all the posts and Happy New Year to everybody!

I too bought a 522LR last Saturday, and for the same reasons. (mainly, the price of centerfire ammo) I also have a piston AR15 and a "580" series Mini 14, but I think they'll be spending more time in the safe now that the 522 has arrived! :)

Uhhh, no! obviously you can't buy both so lets imagine that tomorrow obama screws the country again and bans semi autos with detachable magazines from that date forward. now your stuck with a 22lr...lol:D but that's just me

Got 2 HD shotguns, a .38 and now two .22's. I looked at a Sig 556 that was going for 900 bucks brand new but passed. I see your point but don't feel like I need a .223, at the present at least.

well if you passed on a sig 556 for 900 bucks, there is nothing I can do for you:D

Also, is the supressor made to come off the 522? I see it has a place to use a wrench.
