Anybody have any suggestions about which M4/AR would be best for the money? I believe that you couldn't go wrong with Colt...but I haven't heard a whole lot about the Bushmaster or Stagg models. Please suggest any other manufacturers that you may see fit in the comparisons.

For $600 + shipping and transfer, this deal (http://cmmginc.secure-mall.com/shop/?cart=2016792&cat=161&) is very hard to beat.

While not knowing a great deal about ARs, I do know that Colts have excellent resale-ability. If I were to pick up anything today, I would lean towards a S&W M&P, but that's just me.

Another AR debate in 3....2....1:eek:

My Smith & Wesson M&P 15T it has been great so far sorry can't speak for Colt.

This a good deal on the Smith & Wesson MOE.....http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=81102X&reference=/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi%3Fsearch%3Daction%26keywords%3D%26searchstart%3D9%26template%3DPDGCommTemplates/FullNav/SearchResult.html%26category%3DSMWE

Probably a short lived phenomenon, but at the last two gun shows I've been to NIB Colt 6920s were under $1000 and cheaper than some of the Bushmasters. If you can still find that deal it'd be the one to do.

The Ruger SR-556 has like many piston ARs bolt carrier tilt issues. A quick google search will bring up many results on the problem. I would think twice before I laid down $1500.00 on one, but that's just me.

O yeah what can it do better than the same DI rifle I build for under $1000?

Never had any issues out of my Colt 6920, resale value is king. Never had any issues with my S&W M&P15 either, functioned flawlessly.

How about Olympic Arms...I know that they are kinda at the lower end of the spectrum...but they still look like good quality.

The market is flooded with ARs and prices are dropping - be a savvy shopper.

Wow, that price in the M&P 15T. About half what I paid for one last April.

Ah well, I still love my MOE Smitha ans Wesson.

Big +1 for the Smith AR line. Highly recommended. They are insanely accurate (one hole at 25 yards with a 5 MOA red dot), and mine has never hiccuped once.

DPMS Panther AP4. Awesome rifle. Acurate out of the box, and I payed $800.00 for it.
