Will the 9.3X62 be enough for big brown bears? How painful would this caliber be out of a cz 550 FS and is the availability of it tough to come by?

Thanks!

Yes it will be enough gun for brown bear. It is hard to say how "painful" it would be in the CZ 550, as recoil is a very subjective thing. I will say that my lightweight .35 Whelen with good handloads (pretty much the ballistic twin of the 9.3x62) seems to have more recoil than my heavier .375 H&H. Rifle weight, stock design, and individual shooters tolerances vary widely, making recoil hard to estimate.

If my guide had a 375 as a backup. My minimum would be a 338WM.
