View Full Version : I used up my luck today!

There are 3 or 4 different gun stores I check out on Friday or Saturday each weekend just to browse the used shelves and see if anything interesting has shown up. The first shop was a little disappointing, there wasn't much of anything in there other than long guns, however, at the second shop I lucked out and happened to walk in right after they loaded up the shelves with several thousand rounds of .380 ACP priced at a still high (but more much more reasonable than I've seen in a long time) $17 a box. I picked up 200 rounds to replenish my dwindling stash of .380 and left quite happy.

Then I swung by the last shop (and usually the most expensive) just to see if they might have that rare good deal sitting on the shelf somewhere. Sure enough, I used up the last of my luck for the day.

I found this pristine S&W Stainless Model 63-3 22LR "kit gun". The price? A little over $400 :D. At the last three gun shows I've been to I haven't found a single one of these under $600 and most were beat up blued models.

Needless to say I drove very carefully on the way home. :p

More than a year ago, 50rds of UMC .380 @ wallyworld was 18 and change. 17 is pretty good!!! What brand??

You better watch out. A deal like that will surely bring a karmic backlash! :)

Or else maybe you have done a few good deeds and this was the karmic reward?

Great deal. I would be all over a gun in that condition for that price! I have seen the old dinged up ones at gunshows for way too much.

It's been awhile since I found a good deal. And there is gunshow next weekend.

:D

Nice Kit Gun...
At the last gun show, I found PRVI 380 FMJ for $15/box...a row of tables away, they were selling the same ammo for $24.99!

I always hear about somebody who always wins in games of chance... I always hear about somebody who aways finds the unbelievable deals... I guess that I'm not a somebody. :(

Nice find David, your model 63 was made in 1989.
