My son and i got to go groundhound hunting this afternoon.I'm just wondering what to do with it,not my son.:DI I can't believe my son made me carry that stinky thing all the way home just to show his mom.He took the shot from 65 yards or so with his new .22 and scope.

Any good recipies for this thing.

Supposedly, the young ones are good to eat when you salt and pepper them, then roast over an open fire. But I have a really funny story about a young rockchuck burning like a candle over a low fire . . . never mind, you had to be there.:D

Full-grown ones are mostly fat, so cook them accordingly.

Actually, they are edible, and you can find recipes if you look. We got Mom to cook one once (young one, clean head shot), and frankly we did not like it. And we ate lots of wild critters. Also, word got around school, and kids were afraid to come over for awhile, fearing our "chuck roast". But give it a try...and let us know how it goes.

Like the way he thinks. "You kill it; You grill it"
Even if you cook it, are you really going to eat it. Sure glad I'm not in that spot. Crock pot and BarBaque sauce does wonders. Great lad you have thar and what a day to remember !!! :)

Clean it like a big squirrel, simmer it all day in a crock pot with some hog fat and butter, pull the meat off the bones and fry it up in fatback grease and ground pepper. Add biscuits as necessary.

Yummy! :)
