I have been looking for information on the Remington 1875 cartridge models. They retain the look of the 1858, but do you field strip the guns like the 1858. I just can't find any details on them . I searched the Uberti web site with negative results. Need help!

They actually strip down like a 73 colt. Put on half cock, push the cross pin and pull out the axel pin and remove the cylinder. I have had one for about 11 years. I also have a schofield repop and two 73 colt repops.(all Ubertis) I still like the 1875 better than the rest of them. I hope I answered your question.:D

I like the looks of them. Will they shoot modern ammunition? Just how strong are they?
I just can't find any thing written on them, and I want to know a lot more about them. I guess the 58 cylinder will not fit in the gun, and you can't change cylinders to speed up reloading.

They are plenty strong for Colt-level loads. Built with stronger steels and tight tolerances, the Hartford Armory models are actually chambered in .44Mag and factory rated for .45Colt +P as well.

Picked up my new 1875 Remington. Brought it home cleaned it up and started to look over it like a new baby. Unfortunately it was missing a toe. The firing pin retaining pin was sliding out about a forth of and inch and doing damage to the receiver. another minor problem was the push rod to discharge empties was very badly finished at the cylinder end. I took it back to my FFL to send back to Uberti. I would have let minor blemishes like the gap between the right hand grip and the frame. The box it came in was torn at one end like someone wanted to open it up. I told the guy at the FFL and he said; that thing came all the way from Italy.
Well I guess I will see it inabout a month.
