I see two schools of thought on using buffer shields on the saiga 12 shotgun. Some say will increase life expectancy of gun, but I also read that it will create other problems ie. extracting, chambering, etc. Anyone have personal experience with the saiga as to good or bad idea?

Read my reply in the other forum. Long story short you need to use thinner buffers than the regular AK buffers as the 12 gauge shells require the bolt go nearly all the way back to properly cycle. You can make your own buffers from any sort of thin rubber material, old bike tires etc.
