Talking to John Baker about my final Mini plans and he mentioned thread tenon and whether I wanted it for a specific manufacturer or not(in relation to threaded barrels and possible attachments). What is he talking about?

The tennon is the portion of the chamber end of the barrel that is fitted for a particular action.
The features are machined specific to a receiver. Remingtons are different from Winchesters, etc.
