New to forum, Have a question.

Hey guys and gals. Paul here, new to the forum and new to single actions. I recently purchased a new Cimarron Model P .45 w/5.5" barrel. Love the gun so far. Here's the problem, and this might be a stupid question.

I haven't been able to shoot it due to ZERO .45 colt availability. I've called all the local shops, and hunted online. What's the deal?

Don't know about loaded rounds but I was able to order 200 pieces of brass from MidwayUSA. They were out of most of it but they have a little.

I'm lucky to have plenty of power and primers, and I cast bullets so this order, added to what I have should keep me going for a while.

I had to get .45 colt cowboy ammo and then reload the brass with JHP's.

Well I am definitely going to look into reloading. Buying cowboy ammo then reloading is not a bad idea, thanks NavyLT.

I picked up a boat load of 45colt brass off of gunbroker for a pretty reasonable amount. Something like $95 for 1200 pieces mixed headstamp.
If you just want something to shoot like tomorrow, Dick's sporting goods has them if you have one of those around.

I tried the two Dick's in my area and they both were out. I have some in the mail from priceinsanity.com, but I may learn about and start reloading.
