Okay tomorrows the big innaguration day so if the sun continues to comes up Wednesday ya'll can stop hoarding primers then so the rest of us can buy some. :D

Is the speculation over future ammo price due to the rumored ammo tax hike whats causing the primer shortage, is it the war, or is there more to it than that? There are no large rifle, large magnum pistol, small rifle, or small magnum pistol primers in north AL for sale. I finally found CCI 200's and 350's online yesterday and had to cough up the $22.50 HAZMAT fee.

I know the feeling. The local supply shops have went up so much on that stuff that I came out better by getting together a big order of powder and primers and paying the Hazmat fee. By the time I ended up paying I came out ahead. I think my buying streak is over for now. Heck I still have some powder and stuff that I bought back in 1994.

I found 5K of small pistol primers for $90.00 the other day and bought them along with 8 LBS of powder. The key is to buy in bulk.

I was in Fort Payne, AL a few days after Christmas and the gun shop in downtown Fort Payne had a few 1000round cases of primers. That is all that they had though. I bought one Winchester large rifle for about $35.

Yeah, I don't know why primers are so scarse. Wouldn't it be bullets that would be scarce? I don't know. I, myself, am trying to hoard up enough supplys to reload at least 1000 rounds, at least enough for a year or two of range time - which ain't that much.

Is that gun store in Ft Payne the one on Gault Ave (?) in downtown? The one that sells lots of milsurp ammo? I can't remember the name of the place I'm thinking of but the shop has several tables in the middle of the store with ammo, etc piled on them. BTW, the WalMart in Ft Payne sells reloading stuff now. The only primers they have left are CCI Large Mag rifle.

Well, lots of people cast their own bullets. Do you know anyone who makes his own primers? No? Neither do I... :)

I've been in there a few times but had no idea he sold reloading supplies. You are right about the hidden stuff. As much stuff is in that small store, he may have a tank hidden in there.

Luckily my local shops are always fully stocked in Large Pistol and Small Rifle primers and their prices haven't gone up a penny.
