Just got the brand new DVD (advertisement) from Crimson Trace. I have to give them credit, they do a nice job of demonstrating why laser grips are useful without pushing the buy, Buy, BUY our GRIPS angle too much.
My wife wondered when I mentioned I wanted a set of CT grips on my SIG 229 (my carry gun) a while back and then got a shock when she looked them up as a potential Christmas present and discovered the price. She simply could not understand what it was that "laser grips" would do for me.
After watching the video she now "gets it". She still thinks the price is totally excessive but at least she understands what laser sights are and why you might want them on a pistol.

After watching the DVD I was impressed by just how much more usefull they can be than I originally thought. They are expensive, but well worth the money. Their only disadvantage is that they are gun specific. If you carry more than one gun it can get spendy. If you are on the fence about dropping the money on em, send for the free dvd and you'll become a fan real quick.

Law enforcement officers equipped with laser sights have intimidated the naughty to comply with their requests to cease resistance. Mind you, this is in situations where deadly force was warranted and avoided because the naughty person decided that their life was more valuable to them than the consequences of the after-life.
Lesson: it may avoid a lawsuit (even in lawful shootings, there's the wrongful death lawsuit brought by the survivors and all it means is a lot of stress and an out of court settlement). That laser may prevent a shooting and save you stress and money.

I ordered the DVD and my wife wanted to watch it. So I was ok with that. She also got the Front Site DVD on her own and asked if I had heard of it or if I wanted to go. Of course, yes to both questions!
So on Christmas morning there was a CTC box for my P228. Sweet! Just got back into town today and put them on. Will go to the range on Friday. Can't wait.

My wife and I do not exhange gifts at Christmas, we spoil the kids and pretty much get a free pass to buy ourselves what we want. I bought a CT for my Ruger LCP and I have to say it is very nice, especially on a smaller gun that has rudimentary sights at best. I did well with the LCP as it was (pie plate full mag groups at 25 yds), but now I hope to be able to do that a little easier.
Haven't yet made it to the range with it as my LCP is in the recall pipeline right now. Hope to have it back today or tomorrow.

I have been considering them for my 642 so I ordered the DVD. Thanks for the info.

Thought the DVD was great but the price of the grips, while well worth it, beyond my abilities right now with other purchases (ammo, new holster, reloading gear). Would buy them in a heartbeat for one of my Ruger SPs if we had carry in NJ.
