I have had this shotgun for a number of years now and the serial numbers don't match , but they are so close I was wondering if the experts could offer some opinions on this issue.. The reciever half has the ser# 690199 the forend has a ser.# 690195 . Is it possible this shotgun got out of the factory this way??

Could be someone at Winchester mistook a 5 for a lightly struck 9 or a lot got mixed up. Could be the the front from 95 fit 99 (and 99 to 95) better than the initial fitting and someone made a last minute unofficial swap. Rare, but It wouldn't be the first time an OE gun didn't have matching numbers. Frequently M-12 barrel markings (usually the choke) appear to be double struck; but, they are still quite legible. If it really bothers you, have the 5 ninerized.

That's not too unusual. I've got a Colt Agent that is wxx69x on the yoke and wxx96x on the frame. Someone at the factory had a touch of dyslexia.
