My partner asked me to repair the vented rib running along the top of his barrel for him. It came off in one piece and looks like it was glued on with the front sight post riveted in place protruding through the barrel and reamed out inside. Does anyone know if this was originally silver soldered in place or did they actually glue them back in the 70's? I am hesitant to apply any heat to this and ruin the bluing if I can avoid it. Any suggestions or who I might send it to for repair? Thanks

it was a free-floating rib, anchored front & rear.
